Student Success Statement
"If it is not right do not do it; if it is not true do not say it"
Marcus Aurelius
Reflection: This statement apply to many things and tells you many things in just one sentence. " If it is not right do not do it" refers to a action that has a negative outcome. For example, A teenager is grounded on the weekend because he or she was punished and he or he wants to sneak out. Deep down they know it's the wrong thing to do so they shouldn't do it. The second part of the sentence " if it is not true do not say it" Aurelius emphasizes that if something is not true you should not even dare to open your mouth and spill out a complete lie. For example, A teenage girl is mad over a situation with another person and she decides to spread rumors, she knows that those rumors are false, and if they are wrong she should not even bother to open her mouth.
