An environmental health specialist is a professional who protects
the environment by identifying problems and finding solutions that minimize or
eliminate hazards that may harm environments and populations. Responsibilities
can include analysis and inspection of environmental conditions, as well as
creating and maintaining environmental policies
Salary: $59,270-62,500
Education:
Employers prefer a master's degree in environmental sciences,
environmental health, ecology or a related discipline. For many public and
government sector occupations, a bachelor's degree is sufficient for employment.
Employment opportunities may increase for those who obtain credentials through
the National Environmental Health Association, which offers training and exams
to become a registered environmental health specialist
