Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Duties and responsibilities:
A Nuclear medicine technologist
adheres and prepares radioactive isotopes used for therapeutic diagnostics, or
tracer studies in a variety of radioisotope equipment. They often calculate radioactive doses and prepare
equipment to be used by the radiologists.
They expose the patients to radiation to execute blood volumes, red
blood cell survival, or fat absorptions.
Salary: $71,928-$84, 357
Education: A NMT, often needs an associates degree in
nuclear medicine technology. Or, they could be granted a certificate, or even a
bachelor’s degree. Requirements vary from state but, all need to be certified.
I would not like to be a NMT because I don't feel that this job is the job for me but, i find it interesting.
