Duties and responsibilities:
A health information specialist a
professional in the health care field that organizes and records the patient’s
record. Health information specialists collect personal data, information data,
diagnoses, results of diagnostic tests and transcripts that the doctor puts
into and organized file for the patient’s receiving medical care.
Salary: $32,960 (Expected to increase by 16% in 2016)
Education: Health information specialists need an associate’s
degree in health information science or certificate from me medical or
technical training high school. However, they also have to know basic medical terminology
as well with privacy laws and regulations that affect how medical records are
kept.
