Technician
Duties and Responsibilities: Operating room technicians also called
surgical technician and they assist the surgeon during surgery. They are responsible
for obtaining surgical instruments and having equipment ready for surgery. They
often deliver specimens to laboratories for analysis and take patients to the
recovery room.
Education: A high School diploma or GED certificate is required.
Many vocational courses are available in large hospitals to gain experience and
may last 1 0r 2 years. In the end,
students need to be examined and pass a state wide exam.
Salary: $16,000 - $22,000
